How to use the gratitude journal printable
- Give the journal a title and pick the first day, or clear the date to leave every date blank to write in by hand.
- Enter the number of days (1 to 62), choose one or two days per page and the number of grateful-for lines.
- Add up to three extra prompts, such as "One good moment from today". Each prompt gets two writing lines every day. Tick the mood row if you want five circles to mark how the day felt.
- Check the preview, then choose Download PDF or Print. Tick Remember my entries if you want your title and prompts kept in this browser.
What each page holds
Every day gets a shaded header with its date, such as Monday, November 2, 2026, then a heading "Today I am grateful for" over numbered lines, then your extra prompts with two ruled lines each, and the optional mood row. Without a start date the header reads Day 1, Day 2 and so on, with a line to write the date.
With two days per page the sheet is split into two equal halves with a dashed divider, so the entries line up and you can cut the page in half if you prefer. With one day per page the lines are spaced across the same height.
Choosing lines and prompts
Three lines is a good size for a quick daily habit, and five or six suits a longer writing session. The extra prompts are yours to write, so use whatever helps: something that went well, someone you appreciate, something you learned or something you are looking forward to. If the lines and prompts you choose do not fit two to a page, the tool says so and suggests one day per page.
Dates are counted forward from your first day, including across months and years, and the weekday is worked out for each. The tool does not lock the dates to a calendar year, so a journal can start on any day.
Printing and privacy
The pages print on US Letter paper with a margin all around, in black and green that also print well in grayscale. The PDF is made in your browser and nothing you type is uploaded. If you tick the box to remember your entries, only your title and prompts are kept, in this browser's local storage, and unticking it deletes them.
To plan around the journal, the goal tracker, the habit tracker and the daily planner print as well, and the reading log fits beside it.
Assumptions and limits
- The journal is 1 to 62 days, with 1 to 6 numbered lines and up to three prompts of up to 60 characters.
- Pages are US Letter. Text that is too long for its space is shortened with three dots and the page tells you.
- Dates count forward one day at a time from the first day you pick, with weekdays computed for each.
- Nothing is uploaded. Saved entries stay in this browser only if you tick the box.
Frequently asked questions
How many days can I print at once?
Up to 62 days, which is about two months. With two days per page that is 31 pages, and with one day per page it is 62.
Can I leave the dates blank?
Yes. Clear the first day and each entry shows Day 1, Day 2 and so on, with a line to write the date by hand.
What goes in the extra prompts?
Anything you like. Each prompt prints as a heading with two ruled lines under it, every day. Try a good moment, a person to thank or something you learned.
Does it work in black and white?
Yes. The shading is light and all the writing lines are drawn in gray, so the pages print clearly on a black and white printer.
