How to use the goal tracker planner

        1. Press Add goal and write the goal in one clear sentence. Choose a category and, if it has a deadline, a target date.
        2. Set the progress in steps of 10 percent and write the next step, the very next action you will take.
        3. Tick Sort by target date to put the nearest deadlines first, or leave it off to keep your own order.
        4. Review the average progress and the days left on each card in the preview.
        5. Press Download PDF or Print for a planner with a progress bar for each goal. Update the percentages and print again whenever you review your goals.

What the planner shows for each goal

Each goal gets a card with the goal text in bold, its category, the target date and a count of the days left. A progress bar shows the percent complete, with small ticks at every ten percent, and the percentage is printed beside it. The next step is printed along the bottom of the card, and when it is empty the card shows a blank line so you can write it by hand.

The days left are counted in whole calendar days from today on your device clock to the target date. A goal with a date in the future shows the number of days left, a goal due today is marked Due today, and a past date shows the days overdue in red. A goal at 100 percent shows Done instead of a count, and a goal without a date shows No target date. For example, from October 11, 2026 the target of December 31, 2026 is 81 days away.

The average progress across all your goals is the sum of the percentages divided by the number of goals, rounded half up to a whole percent. Goals at 10 and 25 percent average 17.5, which is shown as 18. It is a rough summary, since a goal that has been finished counts the same as one that is half done.

Writing goals that can be tracked

A goal is easier to track when it says what done looks like and by when. Run a 10K race by December 31 is clearer than Get fitter, and a next step such as Run 5 miles on Saturday turns it into something you can do today. If a goal is big, split it into two or three smaller goals with their own dates, so the progress bar moves.

Progress is a number you choose, so decide how you will measure it. For a savings goal it might be the share of the amount saved, for a course the share of modules finished. If you want a calculation, use the savings goal calculator and then enter the result here.

        Limits and privacy

The planner holds up to 24 goals, six on each page. It does not send reminders, repeat goals or sync between devices. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. If you tick Remember, your goals are saved in this browser only so you can update them next time, and a CSV download gives you a copy you can keep. For daily routines, try the habit tracker.

        Assumptions and limits

        • Progress is set by you in steps of 10 percent. The tool does not calculate it from anything else.
        • Days left are whole calendar days between today on your device clock and the target date. A wrong device date gives wrong day counts.
        • The average progress is a simple average rounded half up to a whole percent, with every goal counting equally.
        • A planner holds up to 24 goals, six per page. Goals are saved in this browser only if you tick Remember.

        Frequently asked questions

How is the average progress calculated?

It adds the progress percentages of all goals and divides by the number of goals, rounded half up. Goals at 10 and 25 percent average 17.5, which is shown as 18 percent.

How are the days left worked out?

It counts whole calendar days from today on your device to the target date. For example, from October 11, 2026 to December 31, 2026 is 81 days. Overdue goals show the number of days past the date.

How many goals can I track?

Up to 24, with six goal cards on each page. Longer lists are not needed for a focused plan, and the printout stays easy to read.

Will it remind me when a goal is due?

No. There are no reminders or notifications. Print the planner and keep it where you will see it, or add dates to your calendar yourself.

        Are my goals stored online?

No. The planner is built in your browser and the PDF is created on your device. Saved goals stay in your own browser storage and can be deleted by unticking the remember box.
