Pay and overtime calculators
- Overtime tools apply the federal Fair Labor Standards Act rule of one and a half times the regular rate for hours over 40 in a workweek.
- Federal law is a minimum. Many states have stricter rules, such as daily overtime. SumPanda does not calculate state rules, and nothing here suggests that federal rules override state law.
- Whether you are exempt from overtime depends on your pay and your job duties. A calculator cannot decide that.
- Pay results are gross pay before taxes and deductions. Tax withholding, benefits and garnishments are not estimated.
- Employer policies, union agreements and contracts can change what you are owed.
Date and holiday calculators
Business-day results use the US federal holiday schedule set by law, with weekend holidays observed on the nearest weekday. Banks, courts, carriers and employers may follow different schedules. Do not rely on the tool alone for legal, court or contractual deadlines.
Pricing, tax and other calculators
The sales tax calculator uses the rate you enter. Real tax can differ by item, location and rounding. Profit, margin, break-even and commission results depend on the figures you supply and the simplifications described on each page.
Accuracy and updates
We test formulas against hand-worked examples and review them against official sources, but errors are possible and laws change. Each calculator lists its assumptions and limits, and the methodology page explains how results are produced. If you find a mistake, please tell us.
