How to use the lesson plan template printable

      1. Type your title, then list the sections of your plan, one per line. Use from 3 to 10.
      2. Keep the lines for teacher, class, date and time if you want them at the top of the page.
      3. Choose how many copies of the page to print, from 1 to 30, and check the preview.
      4. Press Download PDF or Print. Turn on the remember box if you want your section names saved in this browser for next time.

How the page is laid out

Each section you list gets a shaded label bar and a lined box beneath it. The boxes share the height of the page equally, so a plan with six sections gives six boxes of the same size, while a plan with three gives three taller ones. The lines inside each box are spaced for handwriting, and you can leave them unused if you prefer to type notes on a tablet.

The default list is Objective, Materials, Warm-up, Instruction, Practice and Assessment. These six names are only an example. Many teachers use their own wording, such as Standards, Vocabulary, Guided practice, Exit ticket or Homework, and the page treats every name the same way.

Making the template fit how you plan

A single page works well for one lesson. If you plan a whole week, print five copies and write one day on each. If you want a different set of sections for different subjects, change the list and print again. With the remember box ticked, the page keeps your last list on this device only, and nothing is uploaded.

The page is a blank form. It does not suggest content, check standards or follow a teaching method. For planning your time across a week, the Printable Weekly Planner is a good companion, and the Class Schedule Maker lays out the timetable itself. Assumptions and limits

      • The page prints on US Letter paper in portrait orientation.
      • Every section box has the same height. Long section names are shortened with dots to fit the label bar.
      • The section names are examples. Use the names that match your own planning.
      • Nothing you type leaves your device. The saved list stays in this browser only.

      Frequently asked questions

What should a lesson plan template include?

That is up to you and your school. This page lets you name your own sections, from 3 to 10, and gives each a lined box. The default names are Objective, Materials, Warm-up, Instruction, Practice and Assessment.

Can I change the section names?

Yes. Type one name per line in the sections box and the preview updates right away. Names can be up to 40 characters long.

How do I print several lesson plans at once?

Set the number of copies from 1 to 30. Each copy is a separate page with the same sections, so you can write a different lesson on each.

Does this template follow any standards or format?

No. It is a blank form with the sections you choose. Add the standards, codes or headings your school asks for as section names.
