How to use the mood tracker printable
- Choose the month and year, and pick whether the week starts on Sunday or Monday.
- List your moods, one per line, from two to seven. Each one gets its own color and number in the key.
- Check the preview. The page shows a calendar with a circle in every day.
- Press Download PDF or Print, then color each day's circle with the key color, or write the number.
How the page works
The page draws one landscape calendar for the month you pick. It knows how many days the month has, including February in a leap year, and it starts the first day in the right column for the weekday. A September that starts on a Tuesday, for example, shows the 1 under Tuesday and the 30 as the last circle.
The key sits across the top. Each mood has a colored square with a number inside it, so the page still works when printed in black and white, or if two colors look alike to you. Write the number in the circle instead of coloring it, and the meaning stays clear.
Choosing your mood words
The five words shown, Great, Good, Okay, Low and Rough, are only examples. Use fewer for a quick check each day, or up to seven for finer detail. You could also use the key for something else, such as energy, pain or focus, by renaming the lines.
Many people find that a simple daily mark makes patterns visible over a month, such as low days after poor sleep. You can pair this page with the Sleep Log Printable or the Habit Tracker to look for such patterns yourself.
What this page is not
This is a personal log for your own notes. It does not measure, diagnose or treat anything, and it cannot replace advice from a health professional. If your mood is affecting your life or safety, please talk to a doctor, a counselor or someone you trust. For writing about the day, try the Gratitude Journal Printable.
Assumptions and limits
- The calendar follows the Gregorian calendar, including leap years.
- Colors are only a convenience. Every key entry is numbered as well.
- The mood words are examples and can be changed.
- The page is a personal record, not a medical or mental health tool.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use a printable mood tracker?
Pick the month, name a few moods, print the page and mark the circle for each day with the matching color or number. A glance at the month then shows how the days went.
How many moods should I track?
Three to five is enough for most people. The page allows two to seven, and you can write whatever words suit you.
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes. Each color in the key also has a number, so you can write the number in the circle instead of coloring it.
Is the mood tracker a medical tool?
No. It is a place for your own notes. If your mood is a concern, speak to a health professional.
