How to use the trivia score sheet printable
- Enter the number of rounds, and the most points a round can earn if you want a reminder printed.
- List the teams, one per line. To see totals worked out, type scores after a colon, such as Quiz Whizzes: 7, 8, 6.
- Add blank rows for late teams.
- Press Download PDF or Print, and fill in a score for each team after every round.
What the sheet shows
The page is a landscape table with a team column, one column for each round, a total and a place. If you typed scores for a team, the total is filled in. Rounds of 7, 8 and 6 total 21, and decimal scores such as 7.5, 8.25 and 6 total 21.75, added exactly so no rounding error creeps in.
Up to 40 rows and 15 rounds fit. Long sheets run onto extra pages with the same columns, so each page can be used on its own at a table.
Running the evening
Many hosts collect answer sheets after each round and write the scores on one master sheet. This page is that master sheet. Put the team names in the order they registered, then fill in the place column at the end by ranking the totals, giving tied teams the same place.
For a quick tally on screen, use the Score Keeper. To turn results from several games into standings, try the League Table Generator. Add a different style of game with the Bingo Card Generator, or work out grades for a quiz with the Quiz Score Calculator. If the evening ends with a gift swap, the White Elephant Order Generator draws the turn order.
Assumptions and limits
- Scores are non-negative numbers with at most two decimals.
- Totals add the scores you typed, in hundredths, so decimals stay exact.
- The place column is left blank for you to fill in.
- Nothing you type is sent anywhere. The page is made in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
How do I score a trivia night?
Give each team a row, score each round on its own, and add the rounds for a total. The team with the most points places first, and tied teams share a place.
How many rounds can the sheet hold?
Up to 15 rounds with up to 40 team rows. A sheet with six rounds and ten teams fits on one landscape page.
Can I type scores into the sheet before printing?
Yes. After a team name, add a colon and the scores, such as Alpha: 7, 8, 6. The page prints them and adds the total.
What happens to a tie?
The page leaves the place blank. A common way is to give tied teams the same place, or to hold a tie-break question.
