How to use the homework planner printable

      1. Type a title and list your subjects, one per line, up to 10. The five shown are examples.
      2. Choose how many weeks to print, from 1 to 12.
      3. Pick a first day of week 1 to print dates, or leave it empty for plain day names and choose Monday or Sunday as the first day.
      4. Keep or remove the done boxes, check the preview and press Download PDF or Print.

      The grid

Each week is one landscape page. Subjects run down the left side and the seven days run across the top, so the page is a grid with one cell for every subject on every day. Five subjects give five rows by seven columns, which is 35 cells. Every cell has room to write the assignment, and a small box in its corner to tick when it is done.

If you pick a start date, the seven day headings show the date as well, such as Mon 9/14. The dates count forward from your start date across month and year ends, and leap days are handled for you. With several weeks, each page starts seven days after the last one.

A weekly review takes only a few minutes. On the first day of each week, look at the grid, copy long assignments from last week that are not finished, and write any quizzes or tests in the cells where they fall. At the end of the week, count the done boxes and see which subjects slipped.

      Planning homework well

Write assignments on the day you get them and mark the due date in the cell where you plan to finish. Larger projects can be split into steps spread over several days. For the hours a week of homework takes, use the Homework Time Calculator. The Assignment Tracker keeps due dates and scores, and the Printable Weekly Planner covers the rest of your week.

Everything is made in your browser. The subjects stay on your device, and only if you tick the remember box.

      Assumptions and limits

      • The pages print on US Letter paper in landscape orientation.
      • Each week has seven days. With a start date, the first heading is the start date itself.
      • The subject names are examples you can replace.
      • Rows shrink to fit when you list many subjects, up to a limit of 10.

      Frequently asked questions

How many cells does a homework planner have?

Subjects times seven days. Five subjects give a 5 by 7 grid of 35 cells on each weekly page.

Can I print dates on the planner?

Yes. Choose the first day of week 1 and the headings show the weekday and the date. Later pages continue seven days at a time.

How many weeks can I print at once?

Up to 12. Each week is a separate page, so you can print a whole term and use one page a week.
