How to use the class attendance sheet printable

      1. Type a title, then paste or type your student names, one per line. Leave the box empty to print numbered blank rows instead.
      2. If you used blank rows, enter how many from 1 to 60. Choose the number of day columns from 5 to 31.
      3. Keep or remove the Absent total column.
      4. Check the page count and the cell count under the preview, then press Download PDF or Print.

      What you get

The sheet is a landscape grid. Each student has a numbered row, and each day has a numbered column. The number of cells is the number of students times the number of days, so a class of 25 over 20 days has 500 cells. A line above the grid is left for the month and year, which you write by hand.

Up to 25 rows fit on one landscape page. A larger class continues on a second page with the same columns, and the page count appears under the preview. Day numbers are printed in a smaller size when you ask for more than 24 columns so they stay readable.

Many teachers print one sheet for each month and keep the finished ones in a folder. If your term has a different number of school days than the columns you chose, pick the next larger number and leave the extra columns empty. A sheet for a short unit or a camp week works the same way, with 5 to 10 columns and a smaller class list.

      Marking the sheet

Use whatever marks your school prefers, such as a dot for present and a slash for absent. The optional Absent column gives you a place to write each student's total at the end of the period. The sheet does not add anything up for you, because the marks are made by hand.

The percent of days attended for one student is easy to work out with the Attendance Percentage Calculator. The Class Schedule Maker helps with the timetable, the Simple Gradebook tracks scores and the Homework Planner Printable covers assignments.

      Assumptions and limits

      • The sheet prints on US Letter paper in landscape orientation.
      • Names you type are used only to draw the page. They are not saved or sent anywhere.
      • Students are numbered in the order you list them. Sort the list first if you want it alphabetical.
      • Student records may be private. Store printed sheets according to your school's rules.

Can I print a sheet without names?
