How to use the cleaning schedule printable

      1. Write each room or job on its own line, then a colon and the days it should be done, such as Bathrooms: Mon, Thu or Kitchen counters: daily.
      2. Optionally list monthly jobs to print as a checklist beneath the table.
      3. Choose how many weeks to print, which day the week starts on, and add a start date if you want dates in the headings. Tick Who if you want a column for a name.
      4. Print the pages and tick a box when each job is done.

A weekly schedule with different days

The line Bathrooms: Mon, Thu puts a box on Monday and Thursday and shades the other five days. Kitchen counters and sink: daily puts a box on all seven days. Change bed sheets: Sun gets one box.

With seven jobs and four weeks, the tool prints four pages. If you choose Monday as the first day and enter Wednesday October 14, 2026 as the start, the first week starts on Monday October 12, and the tool says so under the preview.

Rooms in rows, days in columns

Each job is a row, and the seven days are columns. A box is drawn only on the days you listed, and the days you did not choose are shaded so it is clear that nothing is planned. This differs from a chore chart, which shares a set of chores among people. Here the focus is how often each room or job comes up.

You can use the days as words: daily, weekdays, weekends, a range such as Mon-Fri, or a list such as Mon, Wed, Fri. The tool tells you if a line cannot be read, naming the line, and nothing is guessed.

Planning a routine that is realistic

A schedule only works if the amount of work fits the time you have. Start with fewer jobs on each day than you think you need, and add more after a week or two. The monthly list is a good home for jobs that do not need to happen every week, such as washing windows.

To share work among several people, use the chore chart generator. For a broader plan of the week, the printable weekly planner has time blocks. Everything is made in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored on a server.

      Assumptions and limits

      • Each line has a name, a colon and the days.
      • Weeks are numbered one after another, and the date shown is the first day of the week.
      • The page is US Letter, portrait, with up to 20 jobs and 8 monthly jobs.
      • If a start date is not on the chosen first day of the week, the tool starts on the nearest earlier one and tells you.

      Frequently asked questions

How do I set which days a room is cleaned?

Write the days after a colon, for example Bathrooms: Mon, Thu. You can also use daily, weekdays, weekends or a range like Mon-Fri.

What is the difference between this and a chore chart?

A chore chart assigns tasks to people and rotates them. This schedule lists rooms and jobs with the days each is due, so it shows frequency rather than who does the work.

Can I include monthly or seasonal jobs?

Yes. The monthly jobs box prints a short checklist under each week, with a place to write the date it was done.

Why does the first week start on a different date than I entered?

Weeks begin on the day you choose. If your date falls later in the week, the tool moves back to the start of that week and says so.
