How to use the class session date generator
- Enter the first and last possible date.
- Tick the weekdays when the class meets.
- Add any dates or ranges to skip, one per line, and an optional limit on the number of sessions.
- Read the numbered list of session dates and copy or download it.
Formula
Check every date from the first to the last, in order
Keep a date if its weekday is ticked and it is not inside a skipped date or range
Stop early if you set a limit and it is reached
Both end dates are included, and a skipped range includes both of its end dates.
Tuesdays and Thursdays in September 2026
From September 1 to September 30 the class meets on September 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24 and 29, which is 9 sessions. Skipping September 8 to 10 removes two of them and leaves 7.
Running Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 1 to December 11, with September 7 and November 23 to 27 skipped, gives 28 sessions, the last on Thursday, December 10. A limit of 12 sessions ends the list on Thursday, October 8.
Planning a course calendar
A course that meets on set weekdays is easy to plan, until holidays and breaks remove some of the dates. Counting them by hand invites mistakes, and a missed holiday means a lecture on the wrong day. A list of exact dates also makes it easy to plan assignments and to tell students how many sessions are left.
Use the skip box for single holidays and whole weeks. The count of sessions updates at once, so you can move a start or end date until you reach the number you need.
Using the dates
Copy the list into a syllabus, a spreadsheet or a calendar. The dates come in a plain format, and the CSV download keeps the number and the date in separate columns. To repeat something every few days instead of on fixed weekdays use the Date Sequence Generator. Lay the sessions out as a timetable with the Class Schedule Maker, count weeks left with the Semester Weeks Left Calculator, and count working days with the Business Days Calculator.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to list holidays?
Yes. The tool has no holidays built in because they differ by school and place. List the ones you want to skip.
How do I skip a whole week?
Write the range on one line, for example 2026-11-23 to 2026-11-27. Every date inside it, and both ends, is skipped.
What does the limit do?
It stops the list after that many sessions, even if more dates fit before the last date.
Can I pick no weekdays?
No. At least one weekday must be ticked, and the tool tells you if none is.
