How to use the address book printable
- Type a title and choose the number of pages, from 1 to 26.
- Pick 4, 6 or 8 entries per page. Fewer entries leave more room to write.
- Turn on the letter tabs to mark each page with a letter from A to Z, and choose whether to add a birthday line.
- Check the preview, then press Download PDF or Print. Punch the pages and put them in a binder.
What is on each page
Every entry has a name line, two address lines, a line for the city and state, and lines for phone, email, an extra line and notes. The extra line can be turned into a birthday line. With six entries a page, a book of 26 pages holds 156 contacts, and the page count and entry count appear under the preview.
With letter tabs on, a column of 26 small tabs runs down the right edge of each page and the tab for that page is shaded. Page 1 is A, page 2 is B and so on, and the large letter at the top of the page repeats it. Cut or fold the pages as you like, or leave the tabs as a visual guide.
Keeping an address book
Write in pencil if addresses change often, and add new people on the page for the first letter of their last name. If you have more than six contacts for a letter, print a second set of pages and put them behind the first. A printed book is a handy backup of the contacts you also keep on a phone.
Contact details are private. Keep the printed pages somewhere safe, and do not upload the finished book to a shared site. For urgent contacts, the Emergency Contact Sheet Printable fits on one page. The Mailing Label and Envelope Printer turns addresses into labels, the Christmas Gift List Printable tracks cards and gifts, and the Password Log Printable keeps logins on paper.
Assumptions and limits
- The pages print on US Letter paper in portrait orientation.
- Entry blocks are the same size on every page. More entries per page means less writing space for each.
- The page prints blank lines only. Nothing you type is stored, because there is no personal data to enter.
- Letter tabs follow the English alphabet from A to Z.
Frequently asked questions
How many contacts does a printable address book hold?
Pages times entries per page. Twenty-six pages with six entries a page hold 156 contacts. Choose 8 entries a page for a more compact book.
How do the letter tabs work?
A strip of 26 letters runs down the edge of every page, and the tab for the page is shaded. Page 1 is A, page 2 is B, and so on up to Z.
Can I print an address book without the tabs?
Yes. Turn off the letter tabs and the entries run the full width of the page. You can use it as a plain contact list.
Is it safe to keep addresses on paper?
It can be, if you store the pages somewhere private. This tool never sees your contacts, because it prints blank lines for you to fill in by hand.
