How to use the travel itinerary generator

        1. Name the trip and, if you like, list the travelers.
        2. Press Add item for each flight, hotel, ride, activity or meal. Give it a date, an optional time, a type, a title and any details such as an address or confirmation number.
        3. Move items up or down, or just enter them in any order. The printout sorts them by date and time.
        4. Check the day-by-day preview, then press Download PDF or Print, or Copy itinerary text to paste into a message.
        5. Press Download calendar file (ICS) to add the dated items to a calendar app.

        How the itinerary is organized

Items are grouped by date, and the dates are listed in order. Each date gets a heading with the weekday and the day number of the trip, where day 1 is the earliest date you entered. A trip from Monday, October 12 to Wednesday, October 14, 2026 has days 1, 2 and 3. Day numbers are counted correctly across month ends and leap days, so October 30 to November 2 spans four days.

Within a day, items with no time are shown first as All day, and timed items follow in clock order, shown in 12 hour time such as 9:30 AM or 3:00 PM. Items on the same time keep the order in which you typed them. Items without any date are listed at the end under No date yet, which is handy for ideas you have not scheduled.

The PDF avoids leaving a day heading alone at the bottom of a page and repeats the trip name at the top of continuation pages. A trip can have up to 150 items, and it adds pages as needed.

        Exporting to a calendar

The calendar file is in the standard iCalendar (ICS) format that most calendar apps can import. Every dated item becomes one event. Items without a time become all-day events. Items with a time start at that time and last one hour, and an event that starts late, such as 11:30 PM, ends in the early hours of the next day.

Times in the file are floating local times: they are not tied to a time zone, so your calendar shows 9:30 AM as 9:30 AM wherever your device is set. That is convenient when you plan in the time zone you will be in, but it means a flight that leaves at 9:30 AM local time at the airport will show at 9:30 AM on your calendar even if you are in a different zone when you import it. Check the times for flights that cross zones. Commas, semicolons and line breaks in your text are escaped, and long lines are folded as the format requires.

        Limits and privacy

The tool does not look up flights, book anything or check opening hours. It is only as accurate as what you enter, so confirm times with the provider before you travel. Everything happens in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and the calendar file and PDF are made on your device. If you tick Remember, the itinerary is stored in this browser only. A packing list is a good companion for the same trip.

        Assumptions and limits

        • Dates use the calendar with no time zone, and day 1 is the earliest date entered. Items without a date appear at the end.
        • Times are 24 hour values typed in the time box and shown in 12 hour format. In the calendar file they are floating local times and each timed event lasts one hour.
        • The tool does not verify flights, bookings or opening hours. Confirm every time and confirmation number with the provider.
        • Itineraries are saved in this browser only when Remember is ticked, and they are not synced or backed up.

        Frequently asked questions

Can I add my itinerary to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

Yes. Download the calendar file and import it in your calendar app. Each dated item becomes an event, with timed items lasting one hour and items without a time becoming all-day events.

What time zone does the calendar file use?

None. Times are floating local times, so your calendar shows the time as typed in whatever zone your device uses. Check flights that cross time zones, and use a time zone converter if needed.

        How are the days numbered?

Day 1 is the earliest date in your list and the other days count from it, so gaps are counted too. A trip that starts October 30 has November 2 as day 4.

What happens to items with no date?

They are kept and printed at the end under No date yet. They are left out of the calendar file because an event needs a date.

        Is my trip information uploaded?

No. The itinerary, PDF and calendar file are created in your browser. Optional saved itineraries stay in your own browser storage and can be deleted by unticking the remember box.
