How to use the organize pdf pages
- Choose one PDF. A card appears for every page, and thumbnails fill in as you scroll.
- On any card, use Rotate left or Rotate right to turn the page, Earlier or Later to move it, and Delete to remove it.
- Check the line above the pages, which tells you how many pages you are keeping and how many are turned. Reset all changes puts everything back.
- Select Save new PDF. The result downloads with organized added to the original file name.
How rotation is applied
A PDF page can already carry a rotation of its own, for example a landscape scan stored with a 90 degree turn. This tool adds your turns to that existing value instead of replacing it. A page stored at 90 degrees that you turn right once is saved at 180 degrees. Turning left from 0 gives 270, and four turns in one direction bring a page back to its starting angle. The thumbnails already show each page with its stored rotation, so what you see on the card is the current look, and your turns are drawn on top of it.
Only the page rotation setting changes. The text, images and drawing instructions of the page are not touched, so turning a page is lossless and can be undone by turning it back.
Why every action is a button
Dragging thumbnails is easy with a mouse and hard with a keyboard, a screen reader or an unsteady hand. Here every operation is a labeled button with a 44 pixel target. After you move a page, focus stays on the same page, and a short announcement tells screen reader users the new position. Buttons that cannot act, such as Earlier on the first page, are disabled.
How the thumbnails are made
Thumbnails come from the pdf.js engine, drawn one at a time at a small size and kept as small compressed images. Only pages near your viewport are drawn, and each is drawn once, so even a 500 page file does not hold hundreds of full-size bitmaps in memory. The saved file is built separately with pdf-lib by copying the original pages, so a thumbnail that looks slightly different from your PDF viewer, which can happen with unusual fonts, does not affect the output.
Your PDF is never uploaded. Both the preview and the saved file are produced on your device.
Limits
The tool reads one PDF at a time and says so when it cannot continue.
- Up to 25 MB and 500 pages.
- Password-protected PDFs are not opened, and passwords are never guessed or removed.
- If previews cannot be drawn for a particular file, the cards still work using page numbers and you can still save.
- Deleting every page is allowed so you can start over, but saving is disabled until at least one page remains.
Good to know
Deleting a page removes it from the new file only. Your original file on disk is never changed. Bookmarks, links between pages and signatures are not guaranteed to survive, because pages are copied into a new document. To combine files first, use the merge PDF tool, and to pull out a list of pages by number, use the split PDF tool.

Frequently asked questions
If a page is already rotated in my PDF, will my rotation replace it?
No. Your turn is added to the rotation the page already has, so a page stored at 90 degrees and turned right once ends at 180 degrees.
Can I undo a delete?
Not one page at a time, but Reset all changes restores the original pages, order and rotations, and nothing is saved until you choose Save new PDF.
Why are some thumbnails blank or still loading?
Previews are drawn when a page scrolls near the screen, one after another. A page that cannot be drawn shows a notice, and you can still turn, move or delete it.
Does it work with a keyboard only?
Yes. Each card has real buttons that you reach with Tab and press with Enter or Space. There is no drag-only action.
Will the saved PDF be smaller after I delete pages?
Usually, because the removed pages and anything only they used are not copied. The size depends on how much of the content is shared between pages.
