JSON-LD Schema Markup Generator

Fill in a short form and copy valid JSON-LD for your page.

The full address of the article, starting with https://

Fill in only what is true and visible on your page. Valid markup does not guarantee any special search appearance. Test the result with a structured data validator before publishing. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

How to use the json-ld schema markup generator

    1. Choose the markup type: Article, FAQ page, Product, Organization, Local business or Event. The fields change to match.
    2. Fill in only what is true and visible on your page. Addresses must be full web addresses starting with http:// or https://, and dates use the date and time pickers.
    3. Read the notes under the form. Problems say which value was left out and why. Hints suggest what to add.
    4. Press Copy markup and paste the whole script block into the head or body of your page, then test it with a structured data validator before you publish.

    Worked examples

An Article with the headline How to Save, the author Ann Lee, the publisher Example Co and the dates 2026-01-05 and 2026-02-01 becomes a script block containing "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "Article", the headline, an author of type Person, a publisher of type Organization, datePublished and dateModified.

A Product named Mug with the price 19.99, the currency usd and the availability Pre-order becomes an Offer with "price": "19.99", "priceCurrency": "USD" and "availability": "https://schema.org/PreOrder". The currency code is made uppercase, and a price such as $19 or 19.999 is refused with a message instead of being guessed.

    What JSON-LD does

JSON-LD is a way to describe the content of a page in a structured form that programs can read, using the shared vocabulary at schema.org. You place it in a script element of type application/ld+json. Visitors do not see it, so it must match what is visible on the page. Markup that describes something that is not on the page, or invents details, can be ignored or treated as misleading.

This tool builds the object from your fields, leaves out anything empty or invalid and tells you what it dropped. Text that could break out of the script element is protected: the less-than sign is written as \u003c, so a closing script tag in a title cannot end the block early.

    What to check before publishing

Valid markup does not guarantee any special appearance in search results, and rules for each type change over time. Test the output with a structured data validator and read the documentation of the search engine you care about. The Product type here never creates ratings or reviews, because those must reflect real reviews shown on the page.

The tool is a starting point. For an Event, add a time zone offset such as -05:00 to the start time. For a Local business, keep the name, address and phone number the same as on your site. Related tools include the JSON schema generator, the JSON formatter and the Open Graph image generator.

    Assumptions and limits

    • Only six common types are supported, each with a small set of properties. Other types and nested details need to be written by hand.
    • The tool does not fetch your page and cannot check that the markup matches it.
    • Opening hours use the short text format such as Mo-Fr 09:00-17:00 and are copied as you type them.
    • Dates are checked for valid calendar values. Times are copied as ISO 8601 text.

    Frequently asked questions

Where do I put the JSON-LD code?

Paste the script block into the head or the body of the page it describes. Static sites often add it to the page template, and content systems usually have a field or plugin for custom head code.

Will JSON-LD improve how my page looks in search?

It can make a page eligible for extra display features, but nothing is guaranteed and the rules belong to each search engine. The markup must also match the visible content of the page.

Why was my web address left out?

The tool only keeps full addresses that start with http:// or https://. A bare domain or an address with another scheme is dropped, and the note under the form tells you which field it was.

Can I add star ratings to a Product?

This tool does not generate ratings or reviews. They should come only from real reviews that visitors can see on the page, and they need to be added carefully by hand.
