How to use the timesheet template generator

    1. Choose Weekly or Biweekly and how many rows per day you need. Use 2 rows if people work split shifts.
    2. Optionally enter the company name, the employee name, an hourly rate and the period start date. Anything you leave out stays blank on the form.
    3. Keep Pre-fill day names and dates on to print the weekday and date for each row, or turn it off to write them by hand.
    4. Check the preview, then press Download PDF or Print.

    What you get

A clean US Letter timesheet with a header for the company, the employee, the pay period and the hourly rate, a table with one block per day, and a total-hours box with signature lines for the employee and the supervisor. Each day has columns for time in, time out, unpaid break in minutes and hours worked, repeated for the number of rows you choose.

A biweekly timesheet is two pages, one per week, so each page has its own weekly total and the layout stays easy to read. Fields that you did not fill in are left as empty lines for handwriting.

How the dates are filled in

With a start date, the form lists seven consecutive days from that date, with the real weekday for each, such as Monday, January 5, 2026. If you turn off weekends, Saturdays and Sundays are skipped by their actual weekday, so a Wednesday start gives Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday.

With no start date, pre-fill uses plain day names from Monday to Sunday. With pre-fill off, the day cells are left blank.

    Filling it in by hand

Write times in and out as they happened, subtract any unpaid break and enter the hours worked. For example, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM is 8.5 hours, and with a 30-minute unpaid break it is 8.0 hours. Add the daily figures for the weekly total.

This tool makes the form only. To total hours, apply overtime and see pay for a filled-in week, use the timesheet calculator or the time card calculator.

    Privacy and limits

The form is generated in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere or saved. The hourly rate you enter is only printed on the form. The template does not calculate pay, taxes or overtime and is not a payroll record by itself.

    Assumptions and limits

    • The PDF is US Letter, portrait. A weekly sheet is one page and a biweekly sheet is two.
    • A week has seven days. With weekends off, five days are listed, chosen by actual weekday when you give a start date.
    • Nothing is calculated on the form. Hours, totals and pay are written in by hand.
    • The tool does not store anything, and the preview is for checking the layout.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I make a printable timesheet?

Choose weekly or biweekly, add any names and dates you want printed, and press Download PDF or Print. The sheet is ready to hand out and fill in by pen.

Can I leave the names and dates blank?

Yes. Every detail is optional, and blank fields print as empty lines for handwriting. Turn off pre-fill if you also want the day cells blank.

What is the difference between this and the timesheet calculator?

This tool produces an empty form for people to complete by hand. The timesheet calculator takes the times you enter and totals the hours, overtime and pay for you.

Why are there two pages for a biweekly timesheet?

Each week gets its own page and total, which keeps handwriting readable and makes overtime checks per workweek easier. You can print both pages or just one.

Does the template include overtime rules?

No. It only records times, breaks and hours. Overtime rules depend on your location and the employee, and you can check hours against the 40-hour line with the overtime calculator.
